Wet scrubbers capture gases by mass transfer. Packing, trays, fluidized beds or atomized sprays create liquid films and droplets that absorb the contaminant, often into a chemical reagent that forms a stable salt. Particulate is caught when particles hit liquid droplets. Dri-Scrub dry systems instead mix the gas with hydrated lime or sodium bicarbonate in a dry venturi, then capture the solids in a pulse jet fabric filter, with 98 to 99.9% particulate collection.
