What heat transfer equipment does Cal West Mashy represent?
APV (SPX FLOW) plate and frame and fully welded heat exchangers, Kenics tube heat exchangers, and inTEST Thermonics low-temperature process, gas, cryogenic, extraction and PAO chillers, for Northern California and Western Nevada.
What's the difference between a plate and frame and a fully welded heat exchanger?
A plate and frame unit clamps a pack of thin plates in a frame with gaskets between them, so it can be opened for cleaning and expanded by adding plates. A fully welded unit has no plate gaskets, so it suits temperatures, pressures and fluids that gaskets can't handle.
How is a Kenics heat exchanger different from a standard tube design?
Each tube has a continuous string of Kenics static mixer elements that keep pushing fluid from the center to the wall and back. That gives three to seven times the heat transfer rate of empty tubes, with minimal fouling. Units are custom-built to ASME code and TEMA requirements.
How cold can Thermonics chillers go?
Thermonics builds low (-80°C) and ultra-low (-120°C) temperature chillers for fluids and gases, including cryogenically cooled (LN2, LCO2) systems, with cooling capacities up to 30 kW.
