EDLON
COATINGS
Edlon’s series of fluoropolymer coating options has been engineered for resistance to chemical and mechanical damage in corrosive environments and high purity applications. Edlon offers coatings in PVDF, ETFE, and FEP up to 40 mils thick, and in ECTFE and PFA up to 80 mils thick.
Our coatings are for use on virtually any metallic surface capable of withstanding processing temperatures (700-800F). Coatings are field-repairable and can be applied to complex shapes through both manway and open access to both tanks and columns, which makes fluoropolymer coatings an excellent option for coating:
Vessels
Spool sections
Columns
Protector rings
Vessel covers and heads
Storage vessels
Agitators
Transport tanks
Baffles
Coatings will withstand full vacuum and high speed agitation. Our coatings are successful in many different chemical services, including caustics, acids, and organic solvents. Please keep reading to find out more about the specific coatings we offer.
Edlon’s SC-2001(TM) is a proprietary ECTFE-based powder spray composite coating. SC-2001 offers excellent impact strength and abrasion and chemical resistance. ECTFE is resistant to most acids, bases, and organic solvents at moderate temperatures and at higher temperatures to some select chemicals. SC-2001 can be applied to complex shapes to a maximum thickness of 80 mils on interior surface and 10 mils on exterior surfaces. As an exterior coating, ECTFE is superior to paint for resisting corrosion in harsh environments.
Edlon’s SC-3001(TM) is a proprietary PVDF-based powder spray composite coating. SC-3001 offers superior resistance to abrasion and mechanical damage and to many corrosive environments. PVDF is resistant to most acids and bases up to 150ºF and offers excellent resistance to bromine, as well. SC-3001 can be applied to complex shapes to a maximum thickness of 40 mils on interior surfaces and 10 mils on exterior surfaces, including to the exterior of glass-lined equipment. As an exterior coating, PVDF is superior to paint for resisting corrosion in harsh environments. PVDF is manufactured by Solvay Solexis under the trade name Solef® and by Arkema under the trade name Kynar®.
Edlon's SC-5001(TM) is a proprietary ETFE-based powder spray coating. SC-5001 offers superior resistance to attack by most chemicals and solvents at moderate temperatures. SC-5001 can be applied to complex shapes to a maximum thickness of 40 mils on interior surfaces and 10 mils on exterior surfaces, including to the exterior of glass-lined equipment. As an exterior coating, ETFE is superior to paint for resisting corrosion in harsh environments. ETFE is manufactured by Dupont under the trade name Tefzel®.
