Overview

The Dickow KM series (KML, KMB and KMV) are compact sealless centrifugal pumps with magnetic coupling. A one-piece static containment shell, with no welds, forms a closed system with a hermetically sealed liquid end. The shell replaces double acting mechanical seals and their external reservoirs and controls, and the pumps run maintenance-free.

Key specs (Dickow bulletin): maximum capacity about 70 m³/h (300 gpm) and differential head 65 m (213 ft). Temperature range is −30°C to 200°C (390°F), and working pressure is 16 bar (232 psi). Maximum drive power is about 17 kW at 2900 rpm (28 hp at 3500 rpm).

Versions:

KML: a single stage, back-pull-out volute casing pump with end suction, top discharge and foot mounting. Capacity and casing dimensions comply with EN 22858 / ISO 2858.
KMB: close coupled to a standard motor, with no extra bearings, coupling or alignment.
KMV: a space-saving vertical inline design.

A jacketed casing and containment shell are available for products that melt or crystallize below ambient temperature. Magnets are cobalt samarium rare earth, and bearings are sintered silicon carbide.

Uses: small to mid-size transfers of toxic, explosive or air-reactive liquids in chemical, petrochemical and allied plants.

PROCESS, ANSI AND API-685 MAGNETIC COUPLED PUMP

The DICKOW pump series KM are sealless centrifugal pumps. The static containment shell forms a closed system with hermetically sealed liquid end. Model AMB pumps match ANSI casing dimensions.

APPLICATIONS

Magnetic driven KM-pumps are designed to improve plant and personnel safety. Especially when handling toxic, explosive or other dangerous liquids which react on contact with the atmosphere. The KM-pumps operate maintenance-free and their containment shells replace double acting mechanical seals, along with external fluid reservoirs and the necessary control equipment.

Maximum capacity appr. 70 m3/h (300 US-gpm), differential head 65 mLC (213 ft). Temperature range -30°C to 200°C (390°F), working pressure 16 bar (232 psi).
