Overview

The Dickow PRMW is the hot oil version of the PRM, Dickow's heavy duty sealless magnetic drive process pump built to API 685. It circulates heat transfer fluids in industrial heating plants without a mechanical seal and without cooling utilities.

Design: The PRMW is an end suction, top discharge, single stage, radially split volute casing pump with a closed impeller. It has a back-pull-out design, and its centerline-supported casing is cast en bloc. The containment shell separates the pumped liquid from the atmosphere, sealed by confined, compression-controlled gaskets with metal-to-metal fits. An air cooler limits the fluid temperature in the magnet area to a maximum of 250°C (485°F) and keeps dirt and pipe scale away from the bearings. That allows heat transfer fluids up to 400°C (750°F). The sleeve bearings are pure alpha-grade silicon carbide.

Performance: up to 900 m³/h and 150 m head at 50 Hz, and up to 1000 m³/h (4,400 gpm) and 215 m (700 ft) at 60 Hz. The magnetic couplings transmit up to 220 kW (295 hp) at 2900 rpm, or 260 kW (348 hp) at 3500 rpm. The equipment is designed for a 20-year service life and at least 3 years of uninterrupted operation.

Uses: thermal oil circulation in industrial heating plants, refineries and chemical plants, where conventional pumps would need double mechanical seals.

Magnetic coupled DICKOW-pumps of the series PRMW are of sealless design. The containment shell forms a closed system with hermetically sealed liquid end.

APPLICATIONS

The magnetic driven PRMW-pump is designed for hot oil applications, to improve plant and personnel safety in industrial heating plants. Mechanical seals are eliminated. No utility cooling needed. In these cases, double mechanical seals are required in conventional pumps.

The capacity goes up to 900 m3/h (4400 USgpm), the differential head up to 150 mLC (500 ft).
