DISTILLATION COLUMNS - CL
FEATURES
- Columns are the core of any distillation plant. It is adapted to each application by the design and selection of different column internals.
 Column types
Our distillation & rectification systems, operating under vacuum, at atmospheric condition, or in pressure, optimally use the following column types, depending on the application:
 Tray columns- Sieve tray
- Bubble cup tray
- Valve tray
- Tunnel tray

 Packing columns- Random packing
- Structured packing

In general, trays are used in applications with liquid flow-rate of 30 m3/m2h and above, and/or those where solids are present or fouling is a concern.
Structured packing are typically used in lower flow-rate applications, especially where minimizing column pressure drop is important (e.g. under low vacuum).
Random packing are often used in higher flow-rate applications where lower pressure drop is desired.
Depending on the application, distillation columns are equipped with the following reboiler types:- Agitated Thin Film TFE/E
- Falling Film FFE
- Forced Circulation Reboilers
